KNAB was the station where I began my radio career at age 19. It was a small, rural station in the middle of farm country. But it was quite successful and we had a great staff. We were young and very much a bunch of rookies! We all loved radio and were eager to get our start in the industry.
Mike Mortensen was our News Director. He also had a short midday airshift, taking control of the microphone from 1-3PM. Also included in this aircheck are several locally produced commercials. Production voices include Jim Nyland, Ted Hall, Leighman William Covington, Lonnie Haines, Lonnie Douglas, and yours truly.
This was recorded from my apartment using a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver with wire dipole antenna and a Technics stereo cassette deck. Source tape is a TDK D90.
