In the summer of 1983, KKXL AM and FM were running completely separate formats. The FM XL93 was engaged in a take-no-prisoners CHR battle with ‘crosstown rival Y95. The AM 14 KKXL featured an Adult Contemporary format. Both stations did very well in the market. Here, Scott Dooley holds down the fort on the AM side of the building.
This was received/recorded from my grandparents’ house in Michigan, ND. Equipment used was a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette stereo unit and a TDK D90 tape.
